Nestled between the North England countryside and key urban areas, the village of Samlesbury is an hour away from Cumbria, the Lake District, and within 25 miles of both Manchester and Liverpool. It's 189 miles from London. Samlesbury is in Lancashire (County of Lancaster), established in 1183. Spirit AeroSystems high-tech facility manufactures parts for Airbus and other customers here. The site, once an active aerodrome, dates back to 1922. By the end of World War II, more than 3,000 bombers had been built and flown from Samlesbury.
